About the Event

Starting from 15 May until 30 June (“Event Period”), the event includes Individual, Team and Family categories with five different target distances. Participants can complete their target distance in one or more runs on any route at any time in accordance with their physical strength and route preference, and simply upload their running records with photos taken at EAL stations to the event’s official website.

With a total length extending to approximately 46 km and 16 stations in total with commissioning of the cross-harbour extension, the EAL will be taking passengers across various scenic landscapes. All participants who complete the event category designated requirements will receive an event exclusive medal with their name engraved on it, an event-themed cooling towel and a cinch bag. Participants with outstanding achievement may even be awarded MTR Malls gift vouchers*.

The quota of "East Rail Line Cross Harbour Virtual Run" is given on a first-come, first-served basis. Come and join us!

Category Information

Individual

Successfully registered individual participants can start to track their running trips from 15 May, 2022. Participants must track and record each trip to accumulate at least their enrolled target running mileage. Please log in to your personal record page to upload the running record after each trip. Aside from uploading running records, during the event period, individual participants must upload two photos at East Rail Line stations in which your e-bib and entry number are clearly shown: a photo at Exhibition Centre Station or Admiralty Station, and a photo at any other East Rail Line station. There is no limit to the number of uploads within the event period and the system will calculate all valid running records uploaded for the final cumulative mileage.

Team

A Team must be composed of 4 members, and teams that successfully registered can start to track your running trips on 15 May, 2022. The total running mileage of all team members must be equal to or greater than the group target mileage (46 km). Please select a team representative to log in to the team record page after each trip to upload the running record*. Aside from uploading running records, during the event period, the team representative must upload two photos at East Rail Line stations in which your e-bib and entry number are clearly shown: a photo of the Exhibition Centre Station or Admiralty Station, and a photo of any other East Rail Line Stations; at the same time, one of the photos must clearly show all team members. There is no limit to the number of uploads within the event period and the system will calculate all valid running records uploaded for the final cumulative mileage.

*For each running trip, the team only needs to upload one record together. Records will be accumulated for calculating the final cumulative mileage.

Family

A Family group must be formed of 2 to 4 members, including at least one adult age 18 or above and one child aged 14 or below. Successfully registered family groups can start to track their running trips on 15 May, 2022. After each trip, they need to log in to the family’s record page to upload their itinerary, and two photos at East Rail Line stations, in which their e-bib and entry number are clearly shown: a photo at Exhibition Centre Station or Admiralty Station, and a photo at any other East Rail Line station. At least one of the photos must clearly show all team family members. There is no limit to the number of uploads within the event period and the system will calculate the final cumulative mileage.

*For each trip, the family group only needs to upload one record together. Records will be accumulated for the final grade.

  • Participants can use any exercise recording apps to keep track of the route and distance completed(e.g. Run2gather, Strava, Garmin, Trailwatch, Nike Run Club etc.).
    Please note that we are not affiliated, associated, or in any way connected with the recommended exercise recording apps, other than Run2gather apps.
  • The itinerary records are to be uploaded in the form of screenshots, which must include the route map, date, time and other information.
